Mmmmm Bread...

Buttery, flaky, melt in your mouth, homemade buttermilk biscuits?  Yes, I think I will.  A true southern girl understands the importance of a homemade biscuit.  There are so many recipes out there though; and many of them are a little too complicated to mess with when you're trying to get breakfast ready and a family ready.  I like when someone says, "Hey, I've got this great recipe. It's only got three ingredients and easy to make!"  Sounds great to me!  Well, I've got this great recipe. It's only got three ingredients and it's easy to make! :)
The recipe is actually a "secret" family recipe from my husband's father.  I've never really understood secret recipes because, why wouldn't someone want to share something good with others.  As we all learned in elementary school, secrets don't make friends.  Also, I have permission to share this with you so here goes:

Ingredients
3 Cups of baking mix (your choice of brand)
1 Stick of butter- cut into pieces
Buttermilk (I know, not very exact.  That's what you get with a southern family recipe...just bear with me)

Directions
1. Put the baking mix into a large bowl
2. Cut butter into the mix with a fork.  Mix until pieces of butter are covered.
3. Pour in buttermilk a little at a time and mix until a sticky dough forms (about the consistency of cookie dough).
4. Coat a cutting board and rolling pin with flour or baking mix.  (you can't use too much flour/mix)
5. On the flour coated board, roll dough out with a rolling pin until it's about 3/4 of an inch thick.
6. Cut biscuits out of the dough with a biscuit cutter (or a large drinking glass if you don't have a biscuit cutter).
7. Place biscuits on a non stick pan and bake at 375 degrees for about 25 minutes.
8. If you enjoy butter, you can brush a little more on the top of the biscuits...just cause :)

9. Enjoy!  And let me know what you think. :)
